Our Team

Tammy Van Fleet

PhD., BCBA-D

Dr. Van Fleet is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst at the doctoral level. She is the director and founder of Behavior Insights, Inc. and Social Skills Training Academy and is on the board of directors for Spectrum Workforce. Dr. Van Fleet also holds a California teaching credential, and she is the author of The School-Based Behavior Technician and creator of The School-Based Behavior Technician Online Training.  

In her private practice, she helps individuals in various areas, including emotional regulation, anxiety treatment, issues with attention and focus, and social skills acquisition. Dr. Van Fleet also consults and trains individuals in educational and professional institutions and specializes in conducting school-based Functional Behavior Assessments. She has authored and delivered several lectures as an adjunct professor and has presented at many professional trainings in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis.

Diana Pineda

M.S., BCBA

Diana Pineda, M.S., BCBA, has worked with individuals between the ages of 3 and 24. Her clinical background includes providing group and individual evidence-based interventions to teach many skills to promote independence. Diana's areas of focus include advanced social skills, college readiness, contingency management, self-management, functional daily living skills, executive functioning skills, self-control, and working alongside parents and stakeholders to provide the necessary support and tools to meet the individual's needs. 

Her focus expands to working with individuals with different learning backgrounds, diagnoses, and levels of support. In addition, she has assisted in consulting with families and schools to create behavior support plans and skills acquisition programs. Other experiences include assisting in developing and teaching courses in behavior analysis, assisting in creating staff training, and providing additional support to apply and prepare for the Registered Behavior Technician exam.

Erica Overton

M.S Applied Behavior Analysis

Erica Overton (she/her/hers) is the Social Skills Instructor at the Social Skills Training Academy. She designs and conducts an evidence-based social skills curriculum under the supervision of Dr. Tammy Van Fleet. In addition, she disseminates the social skills curriculum under the Social Detectives program to schools in the area.

Erica received her B.A. in psychology from California State University, Northridge (CSUN) in 2020, and her M.S in Applied Behavior Analysis at CSUN in 2022.

In 2017, she began her career working with children and their families at a clinic-based service. She has worked with children ranging from ages 3 to 15 years old in both clinical and school settings. Within clinical settings, she conducted group and individualized programs that focus on language development, academic progress, and social skills. She also guides parents through training for advancing parent involvement. Within school settings, she has developed programs and collaborated with the school staff to assist in students’ academic skills.
